Spring Thoughts….

The end of December brought us a wonderful collection of smalls from the estate of Victor Gail and Tom Oxford. Even though the best of the furnishings went to the Huntington Library and Art Galleries (beneficiary of the estate) to enhance the American collection there, and even though Christie’s cherry picked the second tier for their January Americana sale, we were fortunate to be charged with selling…for the benefit of the Huntington…over 570 wonderful decorative objects. From a 15th century Dutch bronze lavabo to an early 20th century model of the Mayflower, the range and quality of the material reflected both the eclectic and studied perspective of these remarkable collectors. As arranged with the estate, the remaining items from the collection have now been reduced 20%, and will reduce likewise every three months until sold. We have listed a number of the objects on this update of our website, with each item from the collection noted as “From the Gail Oxford Collection.”

In addition, we have added a number of other recent discoveries that we hope will encourage contact and visitation from some of our old friends, and maybe stimulate the gestation of some new friends.

Always looking forward….and now into summer….
